It’s that time of year when the mountains call – the snow-capped peaks of the Alps are just a short flight away, or if you’re feeling flush maybe the Canadian Rockies are where you’ll be gliding down the slopes this winter.
Either way, you need to have an appropriate winter wardrobe to take with you on your trip.
On the slopes you will, of course, need your thermal underlayers, salopettes, ski jackets, goggles, gloves and hats – and there are some incredibly stylish and warm options on the market – but what about when you hit the bars for some apres ski fun? Or when you’re cosying up in your chalet by the log fire?
You need to think these items of clothing just as much as you do about your ski wear. So, one essential in any bag is a warm hoody.
Rather than buying a standard off the hook option, why not get one customised for your trip? If there’s a group of you, you could even make your own hoodies to help you all stand out from the crowd and to give you a lovely souvenir of your holiday
As well as a warm hoody, you’ll also want some comfy and warm jogging bottoms to lounge around in. And then when you hit the apres ski bars you’ll want simple trousers or jeans that can be paired with chunky winter knits, colourful scarves and cute beanies to give you a look that transitions from day to night and suits the mountain environment.
